The definition of self confidence is the measure of one's belief in one's own abilities. Everyone is good at something. Try to find your something and build on that. Another step to increase your self confidence is talking with friends and family. Get to the bottom of what caused you to feel the way you do. You will not be able to change the things that have happened in the past, but you can understand them, accept them and start making changes in your thoughts and actions to move past them. Pinpoint your problems and then find solutions to those problems. If you find you have a problem with being overweight, then find your solution for overcoming that problem. If your problem is talking to people, then find a way that will get you out talking to people and help you overcome your problem.

The more you think about things the more chance you will start having negative thoughts and think about the possible things that could go wrong. You will learn by doing and in turn will become more confident. Be prepared but do not over analyze what you are doing. With practice, you will see that you are getting better and your skill level has increased and you will build self confidence.
Helping others is another step on HOW TO BUILD SELF CONFIDENCE. By helping others and having a positive influence on someone else's life will make you feel better and give your confidence a boost. Volunteering is another way to help others. With the holidays coming, helping others will not only improve their lives, it has a side benefit of making you feel better about yourself immediately.
Exercise and staying or getting healthy is very important in how you feel about yourself. Make time everyday to exercise. Even if all you can fit in is ten minutes, do it. Any amount of time is better than no time. Exercise helps clear the mind and can get you ready for the day. Exercise can also help you wind down at the end of the day. Once you get started, you may find that you do not want to stop at just ten minutes. The hard part is getting started.
